The Libertarian Party of San Mateo County (LPSM) is the local presence of the Libertarian Party of California (LPC). Our purpose is to assist local Libertarian candidates (in matters such as ballot access) and to engage in political and information activities within San Mateo County (promoting libertarian ideals such as self-determination, freedom, and individual responsibility).

The LPSM is best known for its active opposition to higher taxes in San Mateo County. Over the last 20 years we've used ballot arguments, newspaper interviews, and public appearances to help block more than two billion dollars in new taxes—saving over $8000 per household.

When was the last time the establishment Republican or Democrat Parties stood up for the little guy instead of the special interest groups?!

On January 31, 2024, the Libertarian Party of San Mateo County will be holding an Organizing Convention at St. James Gate in Belmont at 7:00 pm.  The purpose of the meeting will be to elect officers and adopt bylaws.
